Red Cross Helps Others

An earthquake, 7.9 in magnitude, devastated Peru in mid August, 2007. The death toll, at last count, was 450 with more expected.  (To read the full story, click HERE.)  While the survivors are picking up the pieces of what is left of their lives and family, the Red Cross is there to help.  The people of Peru lost everything within a matter of minutes.  Could you imagine, everything you’ve worked for, gone within minutes?

More recently, Hurricane Dean hit several islands, including Jamaica.  Dean ripped off roofs, tore through buildings, and pulled out trees and telephone poles. Many were injured, much more were left homeless.  ( To read the full story, click HERE.)  The Red Cross has also responded to Jamaica and other smaller islands in the aftermath of Hurricane Dean.

Both areas need as much help in rebuilding their cities and their lives. To donate online, click HERE.  To volunteer internationally with the Red Cross, click HERE

In the total devastation of natural disasters, the Red Cross tries to respond and help out with every one, anywhere.  They need donations and volunteers both locally and internationally to make sure that the help their providing continues.  Read the stories, feel the stories, and help out today.
