Rocky,

My good friend is delivering nets to Niger, Africa in a couple weeks and we are raising money for her to deliver the nets. She is volunteer for a couple days in a hospital and then spending time with her two oldest kids showing them the country she loves.

She was in the Peace Corp and still knows the African language she spoke and now she is a doctor and returning to give back to the people again. She loves Africa.

I'm honored just to know her and be able to help in this great cause. I'm so glad I realized your cause and I look forward to reading more of your site as well as your causes.

Rocky,

I wanted to follow up on this. For the last three nights my 10 year old daughter and I have talked about different parts of the world and closed our eyes imagining things there as I sing this.

First night she chose Zimbabwe. Last night Honduras and tonight we chose Myanmar. This has been an amazing lesson. This simple act has created even more awareness to our surroundings. My daughter by nature is very caring and has a servants heart. This is only expanding that in her.

When I asked her what she imagined tonight I got the following:

* World of laughter: kids will continue to play and find joy even in bad times.
* World of tears: As family members found out about the deaths of loved ones they cried.
* World of hopes: As people came to try and rescue them they had hope.
* World of fear: As the cyclone rushed toward them, they had to be in fear.

Pretty profound for a 10 year old huh? Thank you again for the challenge and I look forward to how this moves in all of us more desire to get out and do what we can to help.

Blessings to you!

Thanks for the reminder! I sing this song to my daughter every night at bedtime. Tonight the words may feel a little more special. Keep challenging us!

Yes ma'am. When we had an exchange student I could see the change in my kids, Japan suddenly seemed so close, and it mattered what happened there. Still does.

Would be nice to have everyone feel that way about the whole world.
