December 10th felt like Christmas for me. What an amazing and busy day! The true meaning of Christmas came alive, giving unconditionally and believing in something or someone that you may have never met.
There were times I was excited like a child. Then there were times I was overwhelmed by the idea of the generosity of others. Yesterday was about the true kindness of people. From donations to retweets, there was no way of getting through Twitter yesterday without seeing something about #10for10. Over 80 donations were made, totaling $1635. Yesterday was a very good day.
The difference that was made yesterday will forever change the lives of these ten beautiful and amazing girls that will forever be a part of my life and I hope yours as well! Every single donation that has been made, no matter what the amount, will help them grow into confident, loved and educated young women.
You have made a difference.
You have changed the course of their lives.
And from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

The Gift Of Education 2009 School Year Campaign
This year, we’want to see how powerful social media can be.
This is our second annual Gift of Education Campaign. Last year, Mothers Fighting For Others collected $4000 and was able to place six girls at Saint Monica Children’s Home for Girls into a private school for the 2008 school year. Two went into a Boarding High School, and four went to a private elementary school to better prepare themselves for their High School Exams.
This year, ten girls will be returning or entering High School. It is our mission to make sure that each of them can attend High School. High School isn’t free, and the cost to put ten girls through a year of High School is too much for Father Augustine to afford. If the money is not raised, the girls will be forced to stay home at the orphanage.
We won’t let this happen.
We need your help.
We have raised $4266 so far. $9000 is our goal. $900 per girl, that’s it. $900 will pay for one year of High School Fees, boarding, food, books, and all her personal belongings while she attends the High School she is excepted into. That’s it.

At Mothers Fighting For Others, we believe that when you educate a girl, you can literally change a country. Why? Because this girl will one day be a Mother. If she is educated, she will be equipped to teach her own children.

The Gift Of Education o8′Is Fully Funded!

I am so happy to say that all six girls from Saint Monica’s Children’s Home will be going to High School next year.
$4453.22 was raised in two weeks. My cousin, Mila, worked hard and with special donors such as Desiree Daniels, we not only reached our goal, we surpassed it.
Passion, drive, and commitment got us there. I am proud and truly thankful for everyone who stepped forward to help my girls.
I am blessed to know all of you. I am thankful to have you in my life.
